A Bilingual Sewing Class with Literacy Volunteers on the Green

Join us for a fun beginner-friendly sewing class with Literacy Volunteers on the Green! Learn how to stitch up a bunch of adorable fabric pumpkin sachets while practicing English and Spanish conversational skills. All supplies provided.

Literacy Volunteers on the Green, based in New Milford, provides free English language and literacy tutoring to adult learners throughout northwestern Connecticut. Their trained volunteer tutors meet weekly with students, using a curriculum designed to build essential communication skills for the workplace, family life, and community involvement.

Ages 18+.

Registration Required.

All participants must have a signed GML Makerspace waiver on file. Please arrive a few minutes early to complete this paperwork if this is your first Makerspace program.
